Research on the implementation of the strategy of blended learning in open and distance learning

Blended learning is a new learning method in education, which integrates the advantages of traditional learning with digital learning or web-based learning to achieve the best learning outcomes and adapts learning programmes according to the needs of the learners and the learning content. The application of blended learning in open and distance education (ODL) plays an important role in improving the quality of instruction. Guided by ODL theory, this paper analyses the present situation in blended learning and explores current learning models by comparing the similarities and differences among different teaching models, different media and different teaching environments. It also discusses the basic theory, design features and technical solutions for blended learning in ODL, referring to other similar studies.
